I've been gone for two weeks speaking to some groups in Canada and visiting friends there. My wife and I drove 3100 miles one-way, taking backroads the entire way seeing scenery and meeting people at gas stations, truck stops, small grocery stores at intersections of small highways, and family run restaurants. It was a truly amazing trip.
And contra the MSM, allow me to tell you something. Canadians still LOVE the U.S.. They were all unbelievably friendly, wanted to talk to us when they knew we were from the U.S., and wanted to tell us about all the places they had visited in the U.S.. Many of them visit the U.S. every year, touring Texas, Florida, CA, all over the country. Some of them have seen more of the U.S. than I have. And all of them wanted to brag about their trips to the U.S. It was amazing to meet all these people from flyover country, Ontario.
And U.S. flags were everywhere. Canadian flags were constant, and about one fourth of the buildings and homes with such flags had out U.S. flags as well. There were as many U.S. flags to be seen as there are in Texas (That's a whole other story I will share in a following blog commentary. But don't listen to the leftist politicians and the MSM, both of which--as usual--are full of bull when they try to describe Canadian disdain for the U.S. And having spent time studying in France and talking to numerous average people there, I suspect the same is true of France and the rest of the Western world.
