THE IDIOTIC HYPING OF THE "NIE" REPORT AS PROOF "BUSH IS LYING"

It is unbelievable though not surprising that the Despotcrats and their lacky media, or visa versa (I have never been able to get clarity about which of the Despotcrats and the mainstream media are the lackies of the other) are seizing upon the "key judgements" of the NIE report to claim both that President Bush has again been "lying" and "war mongering" in his warnings about Iran's nuclear program which have been just more hype just as been the rest of the war on terror.

John Bolton on Thursday in his article in the Washington Post, "The Flaws In the Iran Report" totally dismantles this flawed summary of the latest NIE report. First, Bolton notes that the summary of the text of the report, and the resulting headlines by a biased media and statements by Despotcrats in congress and campaigning for their party's Presidential nomination totally misrepresents the text of the report, describing how "the headline finding -- that Iran halted its nuclear weapons program in 2003 -- is written in a way that guarantees the totality of the conclusions will be misread".

Secondly, Bolton elaborates on how "the NIE is internally contradictory and insufficiently supported. It implies that Iran is susceptible to diplomatic persuasion and pressure, yet the only event in 2003 that might have affected Iran was our invasion of Iraq and the overthrow of Saddam Hussein, not exactly a diplomatic pas de deux."

But there is another point that I feel is vital about this flawed report. It is the fact that WMD's are never found in terrorist states by the U.N. or the enemies of America on the left. There were hundreds of drums that were found after our troops conquered Bagdad, drums that were filled with deadly nerve agents and were stored in Saddam's missile sites all over the desert around Bagdad.

But the U.N.'s IAEA teams (on which the U.N. a year prior to our going into Iraq had replaced experienced nuclear experts with novices who had no expertise) said that these nerve agents could have been insecticides of Iraqi farmers. Wow. Who would have thought that Saddam could have been so kind to the peasants of Iraq. And those mobile poisoness gas vans. Oh yeah. The IAEA said they could have been mobile units for cleaning up chemical spills. You know, its amazing how thoughtful a guy that Saddam was.

So, now three guys with an agenda against President Bush and the war take the facts that have not changed since the 2005 NIE which had said Iran was getting within a few years of being able to make several nuclear weapons, and they say those facts now suggest that Iran is not pursuing nuclear weapons--even though the current report does clearly show that Iran is still aggressively pursuing the refining of highly enriched uranium for which the only purpose is nuclear weapons. But you see, to the left pursuing highly enriched uranium which only purpose is to make nuclear weapons is not to pursue nuclear weapons, just as having nerve agents in missile silos is not to have WMD's.

In the insane world of the left, when the evidence proves something is occurring that you don't want to admit is occurring, you just change the definitions, and "voilla", the problem no longer exists!

We better wake up, or one day a lot of us and our children are going to be killed in mass by non-nuclear or non-WMD weapons. I suppose, however, at that point the survivors could merely redefine "massive" or "death".
